Fabrizio Romano has firmly shut down reports claiming Chelsea have made a mammoth £130m bid for Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior.

Earlier this week, speculation exploded suggesting the Blues were preparing a blockbuster move for the Brazilian winger, who has already racked up over 200 goals and assists for Real Madrid. At the same time, reports also emerged of a £130m Chelsea bid for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

However, Romano has now poured cold water on the Vinicius links — and in no uncertain terms.

Romano: “Chelsea Have Not Sent Any Bid”

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano made it clear the story has no foundation.

“I don’t even know where the story is coming from, but I received tons of messages about Vinicius Junior and Chelsea. The story was about a €135m proposal to Real Madrid — what I can tell you guys is that this is not true.

“Chelsea have not sent any bid for Vinicius Junior. Chelsea are not planning to send any bid for Vinicius Junior. Chelsea are not in negotiations for Vinicius Junior.

“Vini at this stage is not planning for a January exit. So the situation is completely, completely not true.”

Romano added that both clubs and the player’s camp have denied the rumours, while Real Madrid remain focused on tying Vinicius down to a new contract.

Chelsea’s Situation Fuelling Transfer Rumours

Chelsea’s poor form has unsurprisingly intensified speculation.

The Blues are currently eighth in the Premier League, having lost 2-1 to Fulham on Wednesday night, and now find themselves three points behind Liverpool, who still have a game in hand against Arsenal.

Earlier this week, Chelsea confirmed Liam Rosenior as their new manager, with reports suggesting the former Hull City boss wants Marc Guehi as his first signing.

While defensive reinforcements are clearly needed, it’s also believed Chelsea want to add more attacking firepower, which explains the emergence of high-profile links — even if some are wildly unrealistic.

Morgan Rogers Links Still Persist

Unlike the Vinicius story, links to Morgan Rogers refuse to go away.

The Aston Villa attacker has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season and is viewed as a direct rival to Cole Palmer for a starting role with England.

Villa would be extremely reluctant to sell mid-season, but that hasn’t stopped rumours of Chelsea monitoring his situation closely.

Chelsea Need Solutions — Fast

Chelsea haven’t won a Premier League game since their 2-0 victory over Everton on December 13, and patience among supporters is wearing thin.

Whether it’s a new manager bounce, January reinforcements, or both, Rosenior faces a massive task to stabilise results — and quickly.

For now, though, one thing is clear:
A £130m move for Vinicius Junior is pure fantasy.
