Chelsea remain interested in Alejandro Garnacho, but Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear the club will not offload players on the cheap. The Argentine winger was left out of United’s US pre-season tour alongside Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia – a group being managed separately at Carrington.
Despite Garnacho being part of what some have dubbed the “bomb squad,” Amorim insisted United will not be pressured into cut-price deals. Chelsea had previously shown interest in the January window and are still monitoring the 20-year-old’s situation.
Amorim emphasized that executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox are standing firm on valuations:
“If they don’t reach that [valuation], they will be Manchester United players. No doubt about that.”
The United boss welcomed the added internal competition, warning players that if they hope to play in major tournaments like the World Cup, they must secure regular minutes—whether at United or elsewhere.
Chelsea have already brought in Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, and Joao Pedro this summer. Whether Enzo Maresca pushes for another wide attacker remains to be seen, especially with limited time before the Premier League resumes on August 17.
For now, Garnacho’s future – red or blue – is still unresolved.
