Chelsea’s 0–0 draw with Bournemouth brought an end to one of the Blues’ most consistent attacking runs of the season — the first Premier League match since August in which Enzo Maresca’s side failed to find the back of the net.

“I think we lacked quality in the final third. For me personally, this concerns the final pass, some of the crosses, and some of the moments.”
Maresca highlighted that Chelsea built up play well and controlled long stretches of the game, but the cutting edge that had carried them through previous weeks simply wasn’t there.
First scoreless league match since August
The manager admitted he hadn’t realised Chelsea’s scoring run had lasted this long:
“We know we won’t score in every game. To be honest, I didn’t realize it had happened for the first time since the Crystal Palace match in August.”
Despite the disappointment, Maresca stressed the importance of the positives:
“We’ll try to score on Tuesday, but it’s important to at least keep a clean sheet, which gives us a chance to pick up some points.”
What it means going forward
Chelsea will now need a response, especially with injuries mounting and crucial fixtures ahead. The clean sheet offers some relief — but Maresca and his players know that the attacking spark must return quickly if they want to stay competitive in a tightening Premier League table.
