Brighton-owned midfielder Facundo Buonanotte is set to move clubs within the Premier League, with the Argentine cutting short his loan spell at Chelsea to secure a new temporary move.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United have reached a verbal agreement to sign Buonanotte, with the deal now entering its final legal stages.
โLeeds United have reached a verbal agreement to sign Facundo Buonanotte!โ Romano reported.
Due to the complexities surrounding loan agreements, the move will be completed in multiple steps. Chelsea will first terminate Buonanotteโs loan from Brighton, after which the midfielder will formally return to the Seagulls before immediately joining Leeds United on loan until the end of the season.
Romano added his trademark confirmation that the deal is nearing completion, with a โHere we goโ expected once paperwork is finalised.
A Fresh Opportunity for a Promising Talent
Regarded as one of South Americaโs most exciting young midfielders, Buonanotte spent the first half of the campaign at Chelsea but struggled to secure consistent minutes. The move to Leeds offers the 19-year-old a fresh platform to showcase his qualities in a system likely to provide him with more regular game time.
An official announcement is expected imminently as the clubs complete the formal process to terminate the existing loan and register the new agreement.
