Burnley have completed the signing of Lesley Ugochukwu from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old French midfielder joined Chelsea from Rennes in 2023 and made 12 Premier League appearances—nine as a substitute. He spent last season on loan at Southampton, who were relegated.
Now, Ugochukwu gets another shot in the Premier League with newly promoted Burnley, who are managed by former Fulham boss Scott Parker.
Speaking after signing, Ugochukwu said:
“It’s a great feeling to sign for Burnley. As soon as I was made aware of the club’s interest, I was keen to hear more about the project.
It feels like the perfect move for me at this stage of my career with the ambition the club is showing.
It’s a really exciting time to be here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Burnley return to the Premier League aiming to stay up after their promotion from the Championship.
Earlier today, Chelsea also confirmed that Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall has joined Everton on a permanent deal, while Marc Guiu has completed a season-long loan move to Sunderland.
