Nicolas Jackson Sees Uncertain Chelsea Future Amid Transfer Rumors
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has fallen out of favor with fans following a string of disappointing displays, topped by a pricey red card in the Club World Cup defeat against Flamengo.
Senegal international was sent off after just a month or so on the sidelines, featuring in a 3-1 loss to the Blues. It came on the back of a second red card in a couple of months, with the 24-year-old already banned for the opening match of the 2025/26 Premier League season after being dismissed at Newcastle United.

Jackson’s Stamford Bridge future has become increasingly uncertain, particularly with the arrival of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Delap impressed on debut with an assist and now seeks to stake a claim for a starting role under Enzo Maresca, further increasing pressure on Jackson’s place in the team.
Chelsea will listen to offers for Jackson but are asking in excess of £50 million for his services at the moment, says Fabrizio Romano—higher than the £32 million they paid for Villarreal in 2023. The striker has a contract that will keep him at the club until 2033, meaning any sale would be very lucrative for the club.
Romano continued:
What I can let you know as of today on June 21st, Chelsea want a premium for Jackson because I’m told he has offers from the Premier League. We’re talking over £47–£51 million (€55–60 million). Jackson leaving likely? Yes, but in Italy only if Chelsea lower their price.”
Ekitike on the Radar
Even with the addition of Delap, Chelsea aren’t ruling out further attacking additions. The club are still being linked with Hugo Ekitike, who had an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt. There has been news that personal terms for Ekitike and Chelsea are already agreed, but a deal with the German outfit, whose hands allegedly still hold their signing of a fee agreed in principle, hasn’t yet been done.
If Chelsea were to seal another striker deal, this would further restrict Jackson’s opportunities and accelerate his exit.
