Maresca Praises Garnacho Growth After Chelsea Move: “He’s Eager to Learn”
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has offered a positive assessment of Alejandro Garnacho’s development since his summer switch from Manchester United, according to football.london.
The Blues spent around £40 million to bring the Argentine winger to Stamford Bridge, and after a gradual adaptation period, Garnacho is now showing why the club invested in him. His standout performance against Wolves — where he delivered two assists — has only strengthened his case as a rising key figure in Maresca’s system.
“He’s eager to learn and open to new things”
Maresca made it clear that he is delighted with the 20-year-old’s mentality and work ethic.
“He has much more to offer, but that’s not just about Alejandro — it’s about all the players we’re trying to improve. He was quite easy to work with. He’s eager to learn, open to new things, and works well both on the ball and in pressing. Overall, he’s doing a great job for our team.”
Garnacho needed time to adjust to life in London and regain peak physical condition, but Maresca believes the winger is now fully integrated into the squad’s tactical demands.

So far this season, Garnacho has made 14 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His sharp movement, direct dribbling, and improved defensive contribution make him one of Chelsea’s most promising developing talents.
As Chelsea continue to fight on multiple fronts, Garnacho’s increasing influence could be crucial in the months ahead.
