Chelsea FC stars Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer have been recognised for their outstanding performances in February after being named in the statistical Premier League Team of the Month by WhoScored.
The duo have been instrumental in Chelseaโs recent resurgence under Liam Rosenior, with their attacking partnership quickly becoming one of the Bluesโ biggest strengths.
Pedroโs Remarkable February
February proved to be a defining month for Joao Pedro.
Despite Chelsea battling injuries throughout the squad, the Brazilian forward delivered consistently impressive performances, finishing the month with five goals and one assist in the Premier League.
His form continued into March when he produced a sensational hat-trick against Aston Villa at Villa Park, further highlighting his importance to the team.
Only Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal FC recorded a higher average rating than Pedro in WhoScoredโs monthly rankings.
With that Villa hat-trick already boosting his numbers in March, the Chelsea striker could soon find himself in contention for another monthly accolade.
Palmer Back to His Best
Cole Palmer was also recognised for his contributions, earning a place in midfield in the statistical Team of the Month.
The England international also found the net in the victory over Aston Villa, a crucial goal that helped silence any lingering doubts about his form this season.
Since Roseniorโs arrival, one of the managerโs key priorities has been getting Palmer back to his most influential level โ and recent tactical adjustments may have unlocked the solution.
Tactical Shift Paying Off
Instead of using Palmer exclusively in the No.10 role, Rosenior recently deployed him on the right wing against Aston Villa.
The change allowed Enzo Fernandez to return to a more natural central midfield position while Palmer linked effectively with Pedro and the overlapping full-backs.
The movement and interplay between Palmer, Pedro, Reece James, and Malo Gusto created several dangerous attacking patterns throughout the match.
Interestingly, Palmer also thrived in this role under former manager Enzo Maresca, most notably during the FIFA Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain, which many considered one of his standout performances of 2025.
A Blueprint for the PSG Clash
With Chelsea set to face Paris Saint-Germain again in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Rosenior may have already discovered the ideal tactical setup.
The performance at Villa Park provided a clear blueprint โ one that could even see the same starting XI used across both legs of the tie.
If Palmer and Pedro continue to combine as effectively as they did in February, Chelseaโs attacking threat in Europe could become extremely difficult to contain.
