Chelsea and Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández has revealed the five players he most enjoys playing alongside throughout his career for both club and country.
The 24-year-old has already built an impressive CV across River Plate, Benfica, Defensa y Justicia, and now Chelsea, while also making 38 senior appearances for Argentina. During that time, he has featured alongside some of football’s biggest names — including Lionel Messi, with whom he won both the 2022 World Cup and Copa América.
Fernández Names His Top Five Teammates
In an interview with Koora Break, Fernández was asked to choose five players he has played with. His picks were:
- Lionel Messi
- Cristian Romero
- Cole Palmer
- Julián Álvarez
- Moises Caicedo
Some notable names—such as veteran defender Thiago Silva—did not make the list, but with so many world-class teammates to choose from, Fernández kept his selections to players he is currently playing alongside or has strong connections with.

Dreaming of Domestic and European Glory
Having already lifted the Conference League and Club World Cup with Chelsea, Fernández says his ambitions at Stamford Bridge remain high.
“My dream is to win the Champions League or the Premier League with the club,” he told Koora Break.
“We know what that means for the club. We try to represent in the best way every day and every game.”
High Praise for Caicedo
Among his chosen five, Fernández spoke especially warmly about Chelsea teammate Moises Caicedo. Speaking to the club’s media recently, he said:
“Honestly, there are only words of admiration for him. He’s a very humble, hard-working guy, who always gives his all for the team every day. I’m very happy to have him at Chelsea; he’s a machine.”
With Chelsea looking to build a new era under Enzo Maresca, Fernández’s admiration for his teammates—and his determination to win major trophies—offer a positive sign for the club’s long-term ambitions.
