Chelsea Eye Move for In-Form Strasbourg Striker Joaquin Panichelli
Chelsea Maintain Momentum With Win at The City Ground
Chelsea continued their strong start to the Premier League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at The City Ground on Saturday.
Goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto, and returning captain Reece James sealed a comfortable win for the Blues, who now sit fifth in the table after eight matches.
The result came on a dramatic day for the hosts, as Forest sacked Ange Postecoglou just minutes after the final whistle.
With Enzo Maresca serving a touchline suspension, assistant coach and former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero took charge from the dugout, while the Italian observed from the stands.
Chelsea Target Ligue 1 Striker Joaquin Panichelli
Away from the pitch, Chelsea are already planning for future transfer windows — and the latest reports suggest another move within the BlueCo network could be on the horizon.
According to Fichajes via CaughtOffside, the Blues are showing interest in Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli, who has been in sensational form in Ligue 1 this season.
The Argentine forward, who joined Strasbourg from Spanish side Alavés over the summer, has netted seven goals in eight league appearances, quickly becoming one of the standout young strikers in France.
BlueCo Link Could Ease Future Transfer
With both Chelsea and Strasbourg operating under the BlueCo ownership group, the path between the two clubs has become increasingly active in recent months.
Several Chelsea players have already spent time on loan with the French side, including Mike Penders and Kendry Páez, who are currently part of Strasbourg’s squad.
Meanwhile, Emanuel Emegha is also expected to make the permanent switch from Strasbourg to Chelsea next year — and reports suggest that Panichelli could follow a similar trajectory.
Despite signing Liam Delap and João Pedro in the summer window, Chelsea are reportedly eager to add further attacking depth ahead of next season.
Looking Ahead
Maresca’s men will hope to build on their Premier League form when they face Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
While the Blues continue their on-field progress, their recruitment team — led by sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley — appears focused on identifying emerging talent to strengthen the squad for the long term.
