Chelsea Reduce Chukwuemeka Price as Dortmund Circle Again
Borussia Dortmund may be handed a major boost in their pursuit of Carney Chukwuemeka.
According to Bild, Chelsea are prepared to lower their asking price for the English midfielder to around €25 million — a significant drop from the previous €35 million clause. That reduction could push Dortmund to act swiftly and reignite a permanent deal.
Initially, the Bundesliga giants had planned to bring Chukwuemeka back on loan with an option to buy, mainly to assess his fitness over the intense “Englische Woche” schedule. But with Chelsea now open to a cut-price sale, the situation has shifted.

RB Leipzig are also in the race, especially with Xavi Simons unlikely to return. But Dortmund, who have already signed Jobe Bellingham this summer, remain eager to secure a creative midfielder — and they know what Chukwuemeka offers.
During his six-month loan spell at Signal Iduna Park, Chukwuemeka made 17 appearances and scored once. Despite flashes of promise, the original €35 million price tag was too steep. At €25 million, the equation changes — and Dortmund could be ready to pounce.
This could be a decisive moment in the 21-year-old’s future — and a critical sale for Chelsea in their summer clear-out.
