Chelsea Football Club has announced a multi-year partnership with FICO, the global analytics software company best known for the FICO® Score. As the club’s official U.S. partner, FICO will work with Chelsea to promote financial literacy initiatives aimed at empowering American consumers to better understand credit and financial well-being.
The collaboration will center on educational programs that highlight the importance of financial literacy in achieving long-term goals, while leveraging the power of sport to inspire fans to take control of their financial futures.
A Winning Moment On and Off the Pitch
The partnership comes at a high point for Chelsea, who recently captured their second FIFA Club World Cup title with a 3–0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. The achievement reinforces the club’s commitment to excellence both on the field and through community-driven projects off it.
Dan McEwan, Chelsea’s Director of Partnerships, welcomed the agreement:
“We are thrilled to be partnering with FICO in the U.S. We are proud to work with a company that shares our values in using the power of sport to motivate, educate and inspire people. This partnership will help us inspire even more soccer fans to realize the importance of financial literacy and promote the resources FICO makes available to help supporters understand how to achieve their financial goals.”
Tackling the Financial Literacy Gap
A recent FICO study found that while 98% of Americans believe financial literacy is crucial to stability, 28% of Gen Z do not consider themselves financially literate. Through this partnership, Chelsea and FICO hope to bridge that gap.
Among FICO’s initiatives:
- Score A Better Future™: A financial education program that helps consumers understand how credit works, the components of a FICO® Score, and how to improve financial health.
- Score A Better Future™ Fundamentals: A youth-focused initiative offering workshops on credit and personal finance.
- FICO® Score Open Access: A program that allows financial counseling providers to share FICO Scores with customers, with over 250,000 scores already shared.
- myFICO app and website: Free tools for consumers to check and monitor their FICO® Score.
Jenelle Dito, Vice President of Consumer Empowerment Programs and Partnerships at FICO, said:
“We’re proud to partner with Chelsea FC to champion financial literacy among soccer fans across the United States. Financial well-being is essential to every thriving community, and through this collaboration, we aim to empower fans with the knowledge and tools they need to make confident, informed decisions about their financial health.”
