Chelsea to Open Contract Talks With Marc Cucurella Amid Al Nassr Interest
Chelsea are set to shut down any rumours linking Marc Cucurella with a summer move away from Stamford Bridge.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues will soon open talks with the Spanish international over a new and improved contract. Despite recent links to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, Chelsea view Cucurella as a key figure in Enzo Maresca’s long-term project.
Since arriving from Brighton for £63 million, Cucurella has grown into one of the Premier League’s most reliable left-backs. After a difficult start, he turned things around and played a major role in Chelsea’s successful 2024/25 season, helping the club secure Champions League qualification, a Europa Conference League title, and a Club World Cup win.
Cucurella featured in 54 matches, scored seven goals, assisted four more, and was vital in keeping nine clean sheets. His consistency, tactical intelligence, and work rate have made him undroppable in Maresca’s setup.
With Chelsea also planning to bring in Ajax star Jorrel Hato to provide depth, Cucurella remains the club’s undisputed first-choice at left-back. Chelsea have not received any formal bid from Al Nassr but want to reward the player’s growth and importance by securing his future early.
A new deal is on the way—Cucurella isn’t going anywhere.
