Chelsea’s summer overhaul in attack could continue with the signing of Dutch playmaker Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with the Blues, with talks between the clubs expected to begin shortly. Leipzig are understood to be open to a deal worth around £60 million.

Simons has impressed across his senior club career, with standout spells at both PSV Eindhoven and Leipzig. His numbers reflect consistent productivity:

  • RB Leipzig – 76 appearances, 21 goals, 23 assists
  • PSV Eindhoven – 48 appearances, 22 goals, 11 assists
  • Paris Saint-Germain – 11 appearances, 0 goals, 1 assist

Chelsea are said to be confident of finalising the deal but will likely need to sanction at least one more sale to fund the move. That is not expected to be a significant obstacle.

Continued Interest in Morgan Rogers and Alejandro Garnacho

Despite their focus on Simons, Chelsea remain interested in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho. The Blues have been monitoring both attackers throughout the window and are open to moving if the right conditions emerge.

  • Morgan Rogers (2024/25) – 54 appearances, 14 goals, 15 assists
  • Alejandro Garnacho (2024/25) – 58 appearances, 11 goals, 10 assists
What ‘sources’ say Xavi Simons joining Chelsea means for Morgan Rogers and Alejandro Garnacho

Reports suggest Chelsea could bid for Rogers if Villa push forward with interest in Nicolas Jackson. Meanwhile, Garnacho is seen as potentially available for around £40 million due to his uncertain standing at United under new manager Ruben Amorim.

Projected Chelsea Attack for 2025/26

If the Simons deal is completed, Chelsea could enter next season with a dynamic and youthful forward line. Here’s how the attacking depth could look:

  • Left wing: Jamie Gittens, Xavi Simons
  • Right wing: Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian
  • No. 10: Cole Palmer
  • Striker: Joao Pedro, Liam Delap

This projection excludes Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, both of whom are linked with exits. However, should they remain, Chelsea’s depth would be even stronger.

Given the versatility of most of these players, competition for starting roles will be fierce — a positive sign as Enzo Maresca looks to build a more fluid, high-energy attacking unit.
