Why Arsenal Haven’t Announced Noni Madueke’s Transfer Yet
Noni Madueke is set to become Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer in a deal reportedly worth £52 million. While there has been no official confirmation from either club, sources suggest all formalities have been completed, and the player is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Gunners.
Madueke’s arrival is aimed at strengthening Arsenal’s right flank, where Bukayo Saka has carried much of the attacking burden over recent seasons. The 22-year-old’s signing will offer depth and create healthy competition in a key area of the pitch as Mikel Arteta prepares for another title push.
The announcement of the transfer has been delayed due to Madueke’s involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup. He featured in Chelsea’s semi-final victory over Fluminense but departed the squad before the final against PSG, which Chelsea won 3–0.

According to FIFA regulations, players are entitled to at least a three-week break after the season concludes. Madueke has only completed one week of rest so far, and Arsenal have granted him additional time off. As a result, he will miss the start of the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The official unveiling is expected to take place once Madueke’s holiday ends. Arsenal remain confident that the move will be finalised in time for the winger to join the squad for the remainder of their pre-season preparations.
