Alejandro Garnacho says Chelsea FC are ready for the challenge as they prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea travel to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night for the first leg, hoping to secure a positive result before the decisive second leg at Stamford Bridge next week.

The winner of the tie will advance to the quarter-finals, where they will face either Galatasaray SK or Liverpool FC.

PSG Seeking Revenge

The matchup carries added intrigue after Chelsea defeated PSG in last summer’s FIFA Club World Cup final.

PSG reached this stage after overcoming AS Monaco in the play-off round and will be eager to avenge that defeat when the two sides meet again.

Meanwhile, Garnacho—who was not yet a Chelsea player during that triumph in the United States—could be handed a starting role in Paris as Liam Rosenior’s side looks to gain an early advantage.

Chelsea Carry Momentum Into Europe

Chelsea head into the European showdown with confidence after wins over Aston Villa FC and Wrexham AFC in their last two matches.

PSG, by contrast, suffered a 3-1 defeat against Monaco in Ligue 1 over the weekend.

The Blues returned to training at Cobham Training Centre on Monday as preparations intensified ahead of their trip to France.

Garnacho Confident Ahead of Tie

Garnacho has been involved in goals in Chelsea’s last two matches and believes the team has what it takes to challenge PSG on their own turf.

Speaking to the club’s media channels, the Argentine winger said:

“We will recover now and be ready for Wednesday. We have a team to win, so we will try to do that.”

Chelsea’s recent FA Cup clash with Wrexham proved tougher than expected, as the Blues needed extra time to progress.

Reflecting on the match, Garnacho added:

“It’s an incredible win. I think it was one of our hardest games of the season so far.

“It was a battle, and it’s always a fight when you have to come to this kind of stadium – it can be harder than a Premier League game at times.”

With confidence growing and momentum building, Chelsea will now look to carry that energy into one of their biggest European nights of the season.
